Keep your coverage. Be sure to renew your STAR, STAR Kids, STAR+PLUS, or CHIP benefits every twelve months.
It’s quick and easy. Follow these steps to renew your benefits:
You’ll get a notice in the mail from the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) when it’s time to renew.
Choose Manage Your Account to log in or create your account.
You may not need to renew your benefits every twelve months. The Social Security Administration (SSA) will review your eligibility once every one to six years, or when you report a change affecting eligibility or the benefit amount.
If you moved this past year, HHSC needs your new address. Call Texas Health and Human Services Commission at 2-1-1. They can also help you with your renewal.
Log into your Texas Benefits account or call 2-1-1 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Central time. Select your preferred language, then press 2.
You can still reapply for Medicaid. If you apply within 60 days of the date you lost coverage and you’re still eligible, you’ll return to Wellpoint. Call 2-1-1 or visit the Your Texas Benefits website to get started.
Get translation and interpretation services free of charge. Members can get oral interpretation services and information in other formats, like Braille, audio, or large print free of charge. Live chat with a representative.
Wellpoint members in the Medicaid Rural Service Area and the STAR Kids program are served by Wellpoint Insurance Company; all other Wellpoint members in Texas are served by Wellpoint Texas, Inc.
You can also report fraud, waste and abuse directly to the Office of Inspector General.
